Second Home

Dreaming
of poetry
afternoons once again,
Sitting in the huge library,
writing.

Wheel

Back in action today,
thriving in the
Outside world to face
new challenges,

Ready to learn
new lessons as I tackle
Work obligations
with my outside interests,

Turning the wheel.

Impatience

One month in a flurry
of activity,

The next month caught
in a tangle of thoughts,

The unknown always
posing as an omen,

Blending impatience
with meditation,

Reminding myself to
breathe.

Plotting

When working on ideas,
I take the longest time

Finding routines, until
I plot a plan fitting

For my journey at that
moment. It draws out new

Threads, edges  weaving in
a path most comfortable.

Recharge

Being away for
some time recharges

My soul, guides me
to think about

My joys and
blessings,

Figuring out what
is best for this life.

Breezy

A brief escape
from the stress,

Two days of love
and sunlight,

Soaking in some
breezy autumn days

While connecting
with companions.

Split

A path splits further
away from each other

As time continues
to run its course,

Me unsure about
your well-being,

While you wait for
heartbreak to walk in,

Ignoring respite
a few feet away.

October's Beginning

Today did not bring
cool breezes, yet

A blend of green
and gold dot the trees

Across the yard,
a subtle promise

That the seasons
are indeed changing.

Writing Habits

I look out the window
and imagine

A life filled with writing,
forming ideas

For days, my well
overflowing

With characters,
plot points painted

Across the page with ease.
It currently

Ebbs and flows with my mood,
feelings taking

Control of my writing
habits, when I

Really need to take deep
breaths and believe.

'The Lost Girls of Paris': a Reaction Poem

Three women left
to fend for themselves,

Each creating her own
path toward freedom

In the backdrop
of World War II.

Three separate scenarios,
yet tied together

With a single goal:
carve a path

Through the journey, in
the face of fear.

Reconnecting

We were two friends
at a birthday dinner,

Catching up with
the ups and downs of life.

While taking a walk,
a full moon hovered

In the clear autumn sky,
and we loved the breeze

Gently whistling through
the leaves.

We loved the pure
perfection of that evening,

A start of a reconnection
to last a lifetime.

Updates

Each week I reach out
and connect with them,

Clinging to any piece
of information,

Updates serving as
crucial lifelines,

Since any news
about my grandparents,

While sporadic, is
never enough.
