Dreaming
of poetry
afternoons once again,
Sitting in the huge library,
writing.

Dreaming
of poetry
afternoons once again,
Sitting in the huge library,
writing.

Being away for
some time recharges
My soul, guides me
to think about
My joys and
blessings,
Figuring out what
is best for this life.

A brief escape
from the stress,
Two days of love
and sunlight,
Soaking in some
breezy autumn days
While connecting
with companions.
10/04/2019
Today did not bring
cool breezes, yet
A blend of green
and gold dot the trees
Across the yard,
a subtle promise
That the seasons
are indeed changing.

An end to the month
brings the promise of movement
along my life path.

If only
I could share
My next piece
of good news
With you, all
the waiting
Finally
concluding,
So I can
start the next
Chapter of
my story.
If only
I could tell
You, calling
one more time,
So I can
hear your voice.

Three women left
to fend for themselves,
Each creating her own
path toward freedom
In the backdrop
of World War II.
Three separate scenarios,
yet tied together
With a single goal:
carve a path
Through the journey, in
the face of fear.

Another day passes
with no word,
Yet we still have
a fruitful day,
An outing filled with
books, travel, and
Memories;
thoughts of school,
Friendships and
connections fill the
Endless hours,
stretching into
A weekend filled
with possibility.
09/20/2019
A clear Thursday night
spent with books and sharing at
the town library.
09/19/2019
Waking to a good book
and caffiene
Is the ideal morning
for me,
Followed by creating
with yarn and words,
My work life
mingling with
Creativity, setting the
pace in my journey.
09/18/2019
Books, parks and river
destinations filled our time
this late summer day.
09/15/2019
Yarn finds a way
to weave its tale
Back to life, threading
into familiar repetition,
My hands drawing
upon a power
Steadily rising with
each loop and chain.
09/13/2019
Wishing
the very best
to friends close and
distant as I complete my new
journal.
09/10/2019
The sky is encased
in white, as puffy clouds mark
the late summer sky.
09/08/2019
A sliver of sunlight
through the blinds
Gently draws me
out of deep sleep.
It hearkens back
memories of dawn
In Washington Heights,
dawn's arrival so loud
I needed blackout
curtains to mute its rays.
It was a small price to pay
for the stunning scene
I laid eyes on each day;
a slice of city life
I still hold close
to my heart.

After celebrations
fade away,
I think about
the blessings present
In my life, in the form
of messages and calls,
Taking the shape
of friends reaching out
Days after
the craziness is done.
I think of how
My mother would have
Been at peace to
see me happy,
How she is smiling
down on me,
Proud to see
her daughter feel such
joy.

Rain falls steadily,
clouds obscuring the waxing
moon rising tonight.
08/22/2019
I sift through
my memories of
My mom over the years,
caring for me
In different stages
of my life.
As I ready myself
for my wedding,
I feel her presence
more than ever,
Yet I still miss her
company immensely.

Although I am
now traveling
To peaceful locations,
I still suffer from
Treatment received
from past settings.
Time will teach me
heal at my own pace.
