Life Balance

One more day
until my life welcomes

Work back in the routine,
the balance re-introduced.

Time to create a life
filled with writing and books,

With some yarn craft
along the way.

Hopefully.

Answers

It has been weeks
since I've last visited

My family
in Paterson, and

I'm curious as to
how my grandparents

Are doing, wondering
if my niece

Is having good
school experiences.

In a few days
I will find out

All the answers.

Day After Day

Day after day the thread
is woven with each

Cautious loop and chain,
my hands moving in a pace

To strengthen my wrist,
in order to craft once more,

Each morning the speed
slightly quickens, yet

The need to build my strength
tops quickness, so one day

I can crochet seamlessly
once more.

Nearly a Year

It's been nearly a year.

My creativity only carries
through in small
passages,

Refusing to go beyond
a full page.

It could be due to several reasons:
exhaustion, laziness, disinterest.

The question hung over me
day after day,

Until last night, while seeking
a poem to share;

A lengthy one, unlike the limitless
short form pieces I keep.

I notice the last time I wrote
a poem with length

Was back in August, while
grieving over my friend's loss.

Emotions flowed
over the page that day,

My written words expressing
the anguish my voice could not.

She always encouraged me
to create, to write, to share.

Her absence has been felt
each passing day.

I eventually found a piece
to share last night:

A poem about friendships,
and the sudden shifts in life.

It felt so good to share again.

I feels so good to write again.

Closet

Combing

to make a functional

Maryland

One more
shooting taking
place in our country.
What will it take for gun violence
to end?

Stories

Even
though exhaustion
settles in, I keep going,
creating new stories with some
music.

The first

has pink and blue painting

Innocence Lost

Many
families separated,
children mourning a bond
severed, and our government does

What Remains

All the
moments remain;
peaceful, somber, joyous.
Her soul encompassed everything
in life.
