Restricted

Some days I feel
Restricted,
Restraints being placed
on my soul,
Criticisms and negative words
burning my spirit like
Lashes, struck repeatedly
against my soul,
Relentless, cruel.
Just when I can't
bear it any longer,
I call out to you,
praying that
you will hear me.
