Moving On

We confront our fears
and sorrows,

Staring loneliness
in the face;

We stand surrounded
by solitude's cold gaze,

Facing judgmental
words and actions,

And we move on.

Moment of Solitude

In this moment
of solitude,

I learn to
find myself

As I navigate
my new life.

Discovering my
needs and dreams,

Learning what I
want for myself.

Forever Longing

Longing for your hand
to take mine as we enjoy
our time together,
to gaze in each others' eyes,
our lips sharing a sweet kiss.

Meant To Be

A soulmate is out there
for all of us,

Yet fate waits for
the right moment,

That special time
when two people

Meet and connect, sharing
stories and secrets.

Fate waits for that
sacred occasion

When its meant to be.

Peaceful Days

The stress is
always present,

Yet it weakens
as time goes by,

Lessening each day
as the beacon of

Hope casts its soothing
glow over me,

A reminder that
peaceful days will come.

Price of Growth

In order to grow
we lose a part of

Ourselves as we
journey through life;

We suffer loss
in order to gain

Awareness in our
surroundings, serenity

In our hearts, and
peace within our souls.

We move through this life
like fine threads, joining our souls
and stories as one.

August Sunset

Glowing orange globe
slipping gently over
the horizon,

Its citrus hues casting
a final flash of light
before it continues

Westward, the sky ready
to roll out its
blanket of stars,

Welcoming the night.

Time Moves On

Time moves on
and waits for no one.

She worked hard
to please others

Except the constant
longing in her soul.

Frustrated, she eventually
grew tired of waiting

As the hands on
the clock moved tirelessly.

Time moves on
and waits for no one.

She drew on her strength
and moved forward,

Waving her wand
to change her fate,

Unlocking the key to
her heart and soul.

Time moves on
and waits for no one.

She resettled in
a new life,

Striving to regain the balance
that was altered for years.

Time moves on
and waits for no one.

She gazed out her window
and blessed the full moon

Which illuminated the
navy blue sky,

Not knowing what the future held,
but cherishing the present serenity.

Woman in the Mirror

Who is this woman
in the mirror?

That person with
wavy dark hair and

Uncertain look in her eyes,
as if she is

Wondering how to
take her next step?

She turns side by side
in front of the mirror,

Passing the flat iron
through her hair,

Yet strands always spring back
to its natural look,

As if to say: 'This is you,
be who you are'.

She gazes into the full-length mirror
of her new bedroom,

And smiles.

Young Life

I looked at your image
and smiled;

Delicate face and hands
at rest in the maternity ward,

Eyes that resemble your father's
at such an early stage.

Your grandmother shared with me
the joy she felt as

You held your father's hand,
the first bonding between

Father and son, the first moment
of many to cherish

Now that you are
here in this world.

Embracing the Road Less Traveled

Two paths lie before me
as I make my journey;

The first leads the way
to sorrow masked as

Security, a lifetime of
frustration waiting for me

To take the deceiving hand
of safety stretched out...

The other leads the way
to awareness. It is

Lined with solitude, yet
it leads to awareness;

It carries the cloak of
fear, but this can be

Lifted to reveal tranquility
and inner peace...

Knowing the loneliness
I longed to leave behind,

I took the path less traveled by;
for with solitude came joy,

The will to overcome my fear,
and that has made all the difference.
