Seeking Comfort

A pre-winter chill

overtakes the northern skies,

and I take comfort

in his embrace, creating

a comfort warmed by pure love.

There is a chill
in the air

As I walk down
the path

I've taken many
times before.

The path is
worn and beaten,

Imprinted with
familiarity.

It's time for me
to venture on

A new path,
fresh with possibility.

Restricted

Some days I feel
Restricted,
Restraints being placed
on my soul,
Criticisms and negative words
burning my spirit like
Lashes, struck repeatedly
against my soul,
Relentless, cruel.
Just when I can't
bear it any longer,
I call out to you,
praying that
you will hear me.

As the setting sun
paints shades of orange across
darkening skies, I
think about the sudden turns
my precious life has taken.

Several hours
Alone with thoughts and dreams
Of a calmer mindset, reaching
Stillness.

Even when life

is betrayed,

When the ones you

Weaves a web 

of deceit,

Hold on for dear life,

since this sacred thread

Which is now frayed

is a path to more

Intricate stories to come,

adding another layer

To your evolving

life journey.

Steadily

I see promise

all around me,

Rising like a bud

breaking through dirt,

It grows slowly,

steadily, until

It shoots up

with firm quickness.

I see this as 

I prepare for

My next step,

and ready myself

For the growth

that is to come.
