Daffodils
Vigilant flower
rising from the
chilled soil,
Svelte emerald
stem stretching
upward to
Greet the rising
sun, the hue
of warm rays
Coloring its bright
petals, its
center spread open,
Awake to the
advent of spring
despite the cold.

The cord

snapped unexpectedly,
Nothing to do
now but strengthen
current bonds.
She dreams about
friends beloved
and lost.

for them all.
