Vibrant Flower

From a stark background

life emerges;

Ruby and violet

bursts forth,

Ivory-tipped tendrils

reaching toward the sky.

A creature shadowed

in darkness

Rests within its center,

bathing in its light.

Daffodils

Vigilant flower

rising from the

chilled soil,

Svelte emerald

stem stretching

upward to

Greet the rising

sun, the hue

of warm rays

Coloring its bright

petals, its

center spread open,

Awake to the

advent of spring

despite the cold.
