The Wait

Her past is a mystery,

and she takes comfort in

Lashing out at others

until she figures out

How to trust in others,

since experience brought

Waves of disappointment,

unable to practice

Her unique gifts, and

her mentors guide, and wait.

Out of Place

She wanders

from task to task,

Her mind seemingly

preoccupied;

Her work rests on

the table, yet

She waits for the lines

and curves to dance,

Carrying a song that sings

as purposefully as she.

The environment does not yet

resonate in her soul,

So she floats about,

waiting to be pulled in,

Waiting for this new 

place to feel like home.
