Sounds of Summer

Sitting under blue skies
earlier today,

Soaking in warmth,
a glow I missed yesterday

Due to ill health, and now
I relax and take in

The sounds; birds singing
their summer tunes,

Deer rustling in the grass,
resting with their young.

I close my eyes and take in
the sounds of summer.
