She reaches out to me,
breaking her solitude
after weeks of silence.

She throws the lifeline
once more, the desperation
pushing down isolation.

We talk for an hour
as she dissipates the
dark pangs of lonliness.

when I need it the most,
your presence a warm glow
when I live in despair.
Your kisses enliven
a soul battered in doubt.

the days, waiting
patiently for a shift
in luck so my next chapter can
be penned.
