Her spirit keeps on
blooming despite the icy
conditions, rising.

Ensnared
Turning another
page in the book of my life
as I try to move on
from the pain that ensnared me
for a long time period.

Among the Stars
This is your special
day, celebrating among
the stars within a
clear December evening. You
are always missed, always loved.

Secrets
Whispered in the dark,
confided to another,
or kept to oneself,
they lay under the surface
just waiting to be revealed.

Not Distant
While resting in bed
during the pre-dawn hours,
I took comfort in
knowing that good friends are not
distant from my quiet life.

Bags
I remember the days
of you coming home
With bags upon bags
of items lined
In the hallway,
groceries or
Daily necessities
for the week,
And I would help
you bring these bags
To your home, up
three flights of steps,
But it needed
to be done.
Today, while in
my family's home
I answered the door
and saw the bags
Lying on the
foot of the stairs,
My grandmother
coming home with
Her weekly groceries.
It immediately
Threw me back to the days
where I helped you
Bring your bags home.
I swallowed the rising
Lump in my throat,
swallowed back the
Tears that threatened to come,
and went to help
My grandmother,
your mother,
Bring her groceries home;
a simple gesture,
And it needed
to be done.
